National Poetry Month Day #17

You just never know what might get you thinking. I guess I owe some spam-comment-writer-somewhere some thanks for writing this bit I found accidently in my comments and posted to facebook and riffed a couple haiku from and now this. First a review of the spam:

You are my inhalation, I have few web logs and sometimes run out from brand

then the haiku:

My inhalation:
I’ve few web logs and sometimes
Run out from a brand

I have few web logs
You are my inhalation
I run out from brand

But somehow today I kept coming back to “you are my inhalation” – what a phrase, eh?

You are my inhalation

Inhalation
the breath flowing in.
Arc down
the sudden cold
then warm below.
That taut skin
between air and water
sliding over the curves
smoothing the face.
The small bubbles
running up and out again.
The silk embrace.
The pull back to air
and
the inhalation
the unstoppable
gasp after the lips part.
